This poem by Rainer Maria Rilke inspired me personally during a difficult time in my life. It is not only poignant in its imagery, but it is so encouraging reminding the reader that “what batters you becomes your strength.” This rustic wood sign would be the perfect gift for a Rainer Maria Rilke poetry lover, or a gift for someone going through a difficult time. Poetry wall art is always a beautiful addition to any home.

This sign comes in four variations. The first option is color: it can be painted with a black background and white writing in a wood frame. The second is the same as the first except it has a white background with black writing. The second option is size: It comes either in an 8.75” x 8.75” or 13” x 13”. If you would like a different color or size, simply reach out.

Each sign is cut, sanded, stained and painted all by hand, all by me. No two signs are identical and since they are handmade, they are all perfectly imperfect.

All of my signs come gift wrapped. If this is a gift for someone (other than yourself), simply let me know in the notes who the gift is for and I will calligraphy a gift tag with the recipient's name to put on top.
